VIDIKRON AWARDED “BEST VIDEO DEMO EXPERIENCE” AT EHX

Judges at the 2007 Spring Electronic House Expo recognize Vidikron for best video demonstration.

Union City, CA –Vidikron, the leading designer and manufacturer of high definition home theater video display technologies, was voted a Best of Demo Alley (BODA) winner at the recent Electronic House Expo (EHX) held in Orlando, Florida. Vidikron proudly accepted the “Best Video Demo Experience” honor along with demo partners Da-Lite Screen Company, Inc. (screen), CodexNovus, Inc. (HD audio/video server), VizionWare (cables), and James Loudspeaker (home theater speaker systems).

Showcasing high-performance audio and video demonstrations featuring partnering manufacturers, EHX’s exclusive Demo Alley provides show attendees the opportunity to enjoy and vote for their favorites in five categories: Best Audio Demo Experience; Best Video Demo Experience; Most Informative Audio Demo; Most Informative Video Demo; and Most Entertaining Presentation.

Vidikron’s Vice President of Sales and Marketing, Jim McGall, presented a compelling home theater demonstration powered by the company’s new Vision Model 85, a THX Certified single-chip 1080p DLP projector featuring CineWide™ with AutoScope™ technology. Bringing attendees on a journey through the ages, the demonstration opened with the classic black and white horse opera of “Rustlers’ Rhapsody” in native 4:3 format. The 1985 film quickly transitions to “today’s” depiction of the film in 16:9 format and full-color. With the touch of a button McGall took “today’s” video to a new level, as Vidikron’s exclusive CineWide with AutoScope technology moved into place; the motorized lens revealing a super-widescreen 2.35:1 viewing of Disney Pixar’s “Cars”. CineWide technology properly fills the entire screen with the movie originally filmed in 2.35:1 aspect ratio, without black bars at the top and bottom of the screen and with no loss of brightness or resolution. The Vidikron demo concluded with a stunning clip from the 1966 film “Grand Prix”, a Cinerama™ release presented in HD DVD, as well as high definition concert footage of Boz Scaggs performing his classic “Runnin’ Blues”.

Vidikron proudly received its second consecutive Best of Demo Alley award, as the company and partnering manufacturers were awarded “Most Entertaining Presentation” in 2006.

The highly respected Vidikron brand was established in 1980 in Milan, Italy, and was acquired by Runco International in 2002. Vidikron offers a comprehensive selection of high performance, cutting edge video products, distributed through a select network of authorized Vidikron dealers and custom installation professionals.
