VIDIKRON EXPANDS CINEWIDE AND CINEWIDE WITH AUTOSCOPE 2.35 WIDESCREEN OPTION ON PROJECTORS

Denver, CO – CEDIA EXPO 2006 – September 13 - 17, 2006 – Booth # 141 – Vidikron, the leading designer and manufacturer of high performance home theater video displays technologies, proudly announces the availability of the company’s award-winning CineWide™ and CineWide™ with AutoScope™ option on the Vision Model 30 and Vision Model 50 DLP™ projectors. Equipped to bring the highest level of HD video performance to virtually any room and theater application, the Vision 30 and 50 incorporate state-of-the-art projection technologies with expanded installation versatility at attractive price points.

The 1280 x 720 (720p) projectors boast an impressive list of proprietary video advances to enhance the cinema experience in dedicated home theater environments. The latest Vidikron projectors to incorporate CineWide and CineWide with AutoScope (now four models with five different CineWide options), the Vision 30 and 50 create the ultimate widescreen viewing experience. These two exciting CineWide projectors properly display movies filmed in the CinemaScope 2.35:1 aspect ratio (or similar superwide format) through a combination of software, electronics, and motorized anamorphic optics. CineWide technology successfully eliminates the distracting black bars, utilizing every inch of the screen while maintaining superior image quality.

In addition to the CineWide options, each incorporates Vidikron’s DualV Stage Illumination (DVSI™) system that provides for selectable lamp intensity levels for enhanced dynamic range performance. Precision optics system enable striking contrast ratios, deep black levels, and excellent gray scale tracking for high-fidelity video images in even the most challenging environments. While the Vision 30 offers two different lenses based on desired throw distances, the step up Vision 50 adds motorized power zoom and focus control, as well as comprehensive electronic lens shift capabilities. Both projectors include Vidikron’s proprietary Imagix™ video processing technology to deliver near high-definition image quality even from standard video sources, in addition to artifact-free reproduction of higher video resolutions and formats.

The Vision Model 30 and 50 incorporate generous analog component and digital HDMI inputs as well as discrete IR and RS-232 control for seamless home automation system integration. The Model 30 and 50 are rated at a Cinema Standard Measurement System (CSMS™) home theater calibrated levels of 19.0 and 21.5 Foot-Lamberts (fL), with CSMS calibrated contrast ratios of 203:1 and 218:1 (atypical ANSI contrast 2150:1 and 3000:1), respectively. As with all Vidikron projectors, the Vision 30 and 50 are engineered to meet the exacting standards of the Imaging Science Foundation (ISF) – ensuring pristine video fidelity, accurate gray scale tracking and brilliant color reproduction regardless of the source.

Both the Vision Model 30 (new MSRP $5,995) and Vision Model 50 (new MSRP $7,995) can be outfitted with the fixed CineWide ($3,000) lens option, while the Vision 50 is available with the ultimate CineWide with AutoScope ($12,000) motorized anamorphic lens system, and both are available in Classic White or the optional Graphite Gray chassis.
