Vidikron Stages Triple Play at EHX Fall 2004 with Newest Flagship Projectors Series

Vision™ Models 60, 80 and 100 to Showcase Latest Vidikron 3-Chip Projection Technolog

UNION CITY, CALIFORNIA – November 11, 2004 – Vidikron, leading designer and manufacturer of high definition home theater video display technology, is planning a lavish display of its state-of-the-art video projection technology at the upcoming Electronic House Fall Expo scheduled from November 16 to 18 at the Long Beach Convention Center in California. The Vision Series Model 60, 80 and 100 are expected to be the main draw at booth #1250 on the exhibition floor.

“Digital video projection technologies like D-ILA™ and DLP™ have come a long way and are capable of producing some of the smoothest images available,” said Jim McGall, vice president of sales and marketing for Vidikron. “Tremendous detail, richly saturated colors and outstanding black level reproduction are all hallmarks of our Vision Series. These projectors are great show stoppers, and I can’t think of a better place to show them off than at EH Expo.”

Each one of the three projectors has its own unique features. The Model 100 was designed with power and extreme flexibility in deployment in mind. While most high-end video projectors are intended for use in dedicated home theater environments with controlled lighting, not everyone wishes to dedicate a room solely for home theater. In fact, many homeowners prefer to have systems in the rooms they use for everyday living such as the family room or den. This is where Model 100 comes in.
The Vision Model 100 is an exceptionally high performance, high light output projector, featuring Vidikron’s LightAmp™ LCD technology. It is intended for home theater applications where high ambient lighting conditions exist featuring next-generation, active matrix TFT LCD technology in a native 16:9 aspect ratio configuration. The three-panel Model 100 produces tremendous light output measured at 69.3 foot-Lamberts using Vidikron’s Cinema Standards Measurement System™ (CSMS), and 4000 ANSI lumens, produced by a powerful, dual UHP lamp arrangement. The Model 100 offers high definition resolution of 1366 x 768, and has a contrast ratio of 900:1. The multi-standard Model 100 offers a variety of features including lens shift capability for installation flexibility.

The Vision Model 80 projector with companion VDP-80 processor have been engineered for accurate gray scale tracking and true 6500K color reproduction capabilities to produce the most pleasing and film-like high-resolution pictures imaginable. With 1050 ANSI lumens of light output (CSMS™ Light Output of 18.1 ft-Lamberts) and a 2100:1 contrast ratio, the Model 80 offers state-of-the-art picture quality on screens as large as eight feet wide. Vidikron’s multiple aspect ratio control includes its unique IntelliWide™ mode for viewing standard video formats in widescreen without loss of image quality. Discrete IR and RS-232 control makes custom installation seamless, while discrete source and aspect ratio selection accommodate any automation control system.

The Vidikron Vision Model 60 is a 3-chip unit utilizing advanced D-ILA™ technology for exceptional resolution and video clarity. Vidikron’s implementation of D-ILA engineering results in unprecedented black reproduction, outstanding color rendition and an extremely smooth, flicker-free image. The Model 60 uses three native 16:9 aspect ratio D-ILA chips, and boasts a high definition resolution of 1400 x 788. Light output is measured at 17.9 foot-Lamberts (CSMS), and 1000 ANSI lumens. Contrast ratio is given at 800:1.

In addition to the flagship projection series, Vidikron’s PlasmaView™ plasma display monitors ranging from 42” to 60” displays will be on exhibit. The PlasmaView Series brings Vidikron's world class styling, performance and design to flat screen technology. Advanced engineering innovations provide excellent brightness, contrast and black level performance with outstanding video processing and true HDTV resolution.
Electronic House Exposition Fall 2004 is expected to draw 7,000 attendees and 275 exhibiting companies, which include all the leading manufacturers and distributors of electronic home products. Over the years, the EHX events are generally considered as the premiere events in the consumer electronics industry. They draw a wide variety of professionals whose job is to deliver a connected home to consumers. For more information on EHX, visit www.ehexpo.com.
